I thought it would be fitting to have my first blogpost be about the biggest part of my life at the moment. As of the past 4 weeks my life has revolved around school. SCHOOL SCHOOL SCHOOL. One word I hated for the past 18 years of my life… Until about 4 weeks ago that is. Here is what an average day of mine looks like while in school.
7:25am my alarm goes off and I begin my journey to school.
I throw on my fluffy white bathrobe and head downstairs and have breakfast which usually consists of cereal, yogurt, or fruit.
Then, I make my way back upstairs where the real getting ready takes place. It’s funny, at first school was about looking good and coming in with a full face of makeup. Now getting ready for school is simplified because why bother wearing makeup if the moment class begins its going to get taken off so your partner can practice giving you a facial?!
WHITE. That is the one word I would use to describe school. I start off by suiting up in my all white scrubs matched with my all white nursing shoes, socks, and the one sweatshirt I am allowed to wear for the next 4 months. Not only are the students a sea of white once I get to school, but everything around us is white. The beds are white. The bedding is white. The floors in the wax room are white. Lots and lots of white throughout the day, y’all get the point.
At school we spend some time learning the theory portion of a treatment. These are the legistics and such of a treatment which we then go practice on one another.
School is a word I hated until about 4 weeks ago. That’s because 4 weeks ago I embarked on this journey of being an Esthetician. Now, I spend every day at school and fall more and more in love with this career. The more I learn the more I want to know and the more I practice the more I love doing it. It’s funny how once you start learning about something you’re interested in, you really truly delve into it and fall in love with learning.
After a long day at school (9:30am-4:00pm or even 10:00pm some nights) I have a short drive home and throw dinner together out of whatever groceries I have left.
Thanks for following me on the journey of a day in my life (:
