This past weekend I had the privilege to go to IMATS in New York City. For those who don’t know, IMATS is the International Makeup Artist Trade Show. It is essentially a candy land for grown ups mixed in with Black Friday deals, and Disneyland lines waiting to look at and buy products. Luckily, I have a makeup artist ProCard which allowed me to get into the event before the lines got unbearable.
Going in, I had an idea of the things I wanted and the brands I wanted to shop first. I mad-dashed to Beautylish to pick up Bioderma. Next I ran to Stila to snag a liquid eyeliner, and eventually made my way to Morphe before the line of over 200 people arrived.
In the end here’s what I got …
Not all of the items pictured above were purchased at IMATS; however, here’s what was . . .
- Morphe Brushes Eyeshadow Pallet – 35E
- Morphe Brushes Blush Pallet – 9B
- Morphe Brushes build your own pallet
- Morphe Brushes Single Shadows – Wink For Pink & Secretive
- Morphe Brushes Travel Brush Set – Vegan
- Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation – Fair Sand
- Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner – Jet Black
- Bioderma Sensibio H2O Makeup Remover
I was very pleasently surprised with my willpower to keep my purchases from getting too excessive. I had heard great things about Morphe Brushes but never tried any of their stuff. Clearly, I fell in love and went a little wild at that booth (a blogpost of swatches will be up shortly 😉
As for the other things in the picture, I went a little wild at a skincare shop in Chinatown called Nature Republic. I had never heard of this store, however I have heard amazing things about Asian beauty products. Their ingredient technology and outlook on skincare is fascinating to me. There I picked up three face masks; bamboo, pearl snail solution, and olive. I also picked up a collagen eye cream and a shea butter hand cream. The Esthetician in me nerded out in this store and I can’t wait to try it all!
Overall, a busy weekend of walking and shopping and exploring the city made me happy to say the least(: check back to see swatches and product reviews coming soon!
